Smart, Simple Solution to a Complicated and Costly Problem

Developed by a nurse entrepreneur to protect caregivers, staff and visitors

The Pathogen Pouch is an integrated wrapper panel on the interior of disposable medical products like isolation gowns, surgical drapes, flat and fitted sheets.  This simple, but ingenious solution enables the contaminated surface to be self contained in the pouch for safe disposal.  This solution directly attacks the potential for transmission of deadly pathogens that cause hospital acquired infections (HAI) at the source.

Reduced Operational Waste

Effective disposal with integrated Pathogen Pouch products has shown to improve appearance of hospital spaces, improved patient satisfaction, reducing waste volume and number of trash pulls.

Little Efficiencies that Add Up

Trash pull

The importance of stopping waste receptacles from overflowing and preventing contact transmission…

In a study examining doffing of 48 health care personnel (HCP) across eight units, deviation in the process of doffing were numerous. The variation and or errors occurred with rolling up the disposable isolation gowns with bare hands, not rolling up the gown with removal resulting in overflowing trash receptacles and gowns on the floor.  These factors contribute to the lack of cleanliness of the room as perceived by patients and families.

Frequent and unexpected deviations from personal protective equipment guidelines increase contamination risks.
